Pilgrim Passport

Pilgrim Passport ordered from Rome. It gets stamped everywhere you stop on the Via Francigena to show you actually traveled it. Then at the Vatican you receive your "Testimonium". And, of course, total enlightenment....which is nice.

Music and books

Last night, our Pine Creek neighbors had a PilgrimBob Bon voyage dinner. So I am now official with my pilgrim hat (thank you Doreen's fifth grader). Also thank you Doreen and Walt!
Was thinking of painting the hat white when I get to the Vatican😎
OK so I need to up my song and audiobook inventory. Everyone has to send me 3 song titles and 1 book title.
Doreen started me off with "Walk 500 Miles" by The Proclaimers. Lisa's was "What I Like About You" by Trisha Yearwood.

Italy

OK! PilgrimBob is about to go on a great adventure. 1,250 miles of walking and hiking from Canterbury, England to Rome Italy. The path is called Via Francigena, an ancient road of pilgrimage for those wishing to see the Pope, the Vatican, and the tombs of the apostles Peter and Paul. Later, in the 10th century, "Segeric the Serious", an archbishop from Canterbury used Via Francigena to receive his pallium (papal papers) directly from the Pope. Segeric was the first pilgrim to document the route.
So, we are off Saturday, April 30. Drive 211 miles from Pine Creek to Philly. Fly 3,539 miles Philly to Heathrow,  16 miles on the train to London,  62 miles by train to Canterbury. After a nights stay in Canterbury, on Monday morning, we get our journey blessed by the Archbishop of Canterbury and then we're off.
For the last month I've been building up my daily walking mileage, starting 3 mi per day, then 5, 7 and now 10 miles. For the last week we've been at our home on Pine Creek. Pics from "base camp".
Ramsey Village is where we live on Pine Creek. Settled by the Ramsey sisters. A view of Pine Creek from the bike trail which runs for 63 miles near our home. Spring run off.  The rails to trail.
 Good kayaking
View from the back porch great bass fishing
